WEST YORKSHIRE gets a gander at the Clapping Hands
Hapworth Wakefield
Do you see that over yonder?
Yorkshire puns aside, the Clapping Hands have now been seen on many Yorkshire buildings now in York, Middlesbrough, Hull, now in West Yorkshire with Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford and Huddersfield adding to the ever growing list of places to share this for those we clap for.
There’s summat on that building
Here is can be seen on the Hepworth Wakefield, the iconic Gallery beside the river Calder named after the cities famed sculpture Berbara Hepworth. It could be seen with another Yorkshire artists work on it with Ian Berry’s Clapping Hands.
That’s reet good, I clap for you
Designed by British Architect David Chipperfield, it made a great location to project on in Wakefield, the Cathedral City in the middle of the Rhubarb triangle - we clap for all on the front line especially at Pinderfields Hospital.
LEEDS Town Hall
The Grand 19th century municipal building on the Headrow was lit up the the Clapping Hands. As one of the tallest buildings in Leeds it allowed the projection to be seen by more people and from a distance in Yorkshire’s biggest City.
Elland Road
If there is one photo that shows Ian Berry has little control where the projection goes it is this one! As a Huddersfield Town fan Leeds United are the main rivals and giving the close proximity fierce local rivals. But we’re all in this together and we need to march on together to fight this so we clap for everyone - no matter who they support.
