Scotland lights the way
Clap for Caledonia
Scottish cities lead the way collectively as the country with most projections in different areas. With Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth, Sterling and Inverness projecting the Clapping Hands along with areas such as Loch Ness and John o’Groats, the most northerly tip of the Isle of Britain. If there is anyone in other areas, specially Glasgow and Aberdeen, please get in touch!
A big thank you to the projectionists doing these in Scotland, it has led to many surprises to wake up to!
Edinburgh Castle has a new tale to tell
Edinburgh Castle is one of the oldest fortified places in Europe. With a long rich history as a royal residence, military garrison, prison and fortress, it is alive with many exciting tales. When you climb Castle Hill, you walk in the footsteps of soldiers, kings and queens. Now we follow and support our new heroes on the frontline.
V&A Dundee projects the design
As a UNESCO City of Design it is fitting for it to show the Hand Clapping animation. V&A Dundee opened on 15 September 2018 and is the first design museum in Scotland and the first Victoria and Albert museum outside London. The V&A Dundee is also the first building in the UK that has been designed by Kengo Kuma.
Loch Ness lit as we fight another hidden monster
Loch Ness is the famous large, deep, freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands extending for approximately 37 kilometres southwest of Inverness. Its surface is 16 metres above sea level. Loch Ness is of course best known for alleged sightings of the cryptozoological Loch Ness Monster, also known affectionately as "Nessie
…to John o’Groats
John o' Groats is a village 2.5 miles (4 km) NE of the village of Canisbay, Caithness, in the far north of Scotland. It lies on the island of Britain’s northeastern tip, and is popular with tourists as one end of the longest distance between two inhabited British points on the mainland, with Land’s End in Cornwall lying 876 miles (1,410 km) to the southwest which leads the imagination to where the projection could end up!
A passenger ferry does operate from John o' Groats to Burwick on South Ronaldsay in Orkney (a hint if anyone wants to go further north!) the population is just 300 so it’s been get to get the Clapping Hands played there.

Highlands Club, Loch Ness
The Highland Club estate is set within 20 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds on the southern shores of Loch Ness. It occupies the Grade A gothic buildings of the original 1729 English fortification, Fort Augustus, which later on were transformed into St Benedict’s Abbey. The Highland Club is unique, steeped in centuries of Scottish history and a special place to stay. We hope they can welcome visitors to stay soon.
