LAND’S END but is it the end?

Land’s End to John o’Groats

(or the other way around)

Dream it.

Land's End to John o' Groats is the furthest distance of the whole length of the island of Britain between two extremities, in the southwest and northeast. The traditional distance by road is 874 miles (1,407 km) and takes most cyclists 10 to 14 days; the record for running the route is nine days. Off-road walkers typically walk about 1,200 miles (1,900 km) and take two or three months for the expedition.

Achieve it

For us its taken about a month all together. A projection was lit in John o’Groats last week though and now here in Land’s End last night, with dozens of locations in between. Yes, we arranged it quicker as we felt time was no longer on our side, but it’s amazing to think of the locations it’s been in and the building’s its been seen on - but more so the people its touched, and the new friends made along the way.

It’s not the End

Two much-photographed signposts indicate the traditional distance at each end and if fate would have it, the one in Land’s End was taken away for repairs. We got the one in John o’Groats and while we may not have got that - we, the team that have been working on this do feel a sense of pride to have been able to pull this off. A really big thank you to Andrew Hall for arranging this.

The post may not be there, but the projection was.

St. Ives

Interesting how St. Ives had been done, so close to the tip… and so close to what is to come.
