“I clap for my 2 friends, Johanna and Marybeth. They are nurses working at the free Medical Clinic in Philadelphia. When Corona started they didn’t lock up and go stay-at-home as ordered by the Mayor of Philadelphia, they increased the hours at the clinic to help “our people” (all those that we serve). The people we serve are homeless, or live in a room that has no bathroom, or kitchen. It is a place where they go to sleep with bed bugs and roaches. The walls and ceilings are falling down and covered in mildew. No, they cannot go home, so they go to where someone cares about them, the Medical Clinic in Philly. Johanna and Marybeth wear masks and gloves and had a washing station installed to teach our people about cleanliness. They teach our people about the next overwhelming obstacle in their lives called Corona. Our people start wearing masks and trying to keep a social safe distance from each other, even though these are their friends and truly their family. No, they do not go home. They go where Johanna and Marybeth can help them and teach them to take care of themselves and those around them.”
